Going out to restaurants is one of my favorite things. However, it’s not the best thing for my weight, to be sure. If you love to go out to eat, can you still find ways to lose weight?

It’s fairly commonly thought that their diet simply won’t apply once you start going out to eat at restaurants. They couldn’t be more wrong! This just won’t work if you eat out frequently.

All you can do is eat differently as you go out to restaurants. Those of you who want to lose weight should keep this in mind.

The following outlines some ways to eat healthier when you go to restaurants:

1) Figure Out Your Meal Beforehand: most restaurants have their menu up online, which can let you decide what you want to get before you get there. You can look at the nutritional info on the dish, so you can pick the healthiest alternative.

2) Request That Your Portion Be Smaller: You read that correctly. Smaller portions are nothing to be afraid of! You might still have to pay just as much for less food, but you don’t need to be eating that much anyway!

3) Don’t eat out on an empty stomach. Inevitably, your eyes will be bigger than your stomach, and you’ll order more. Drinking a lot of water before you go out should fix this. You’ll really notice the difference.

4) Share Your Dessert: Many of us just can’t imagine dinner without dessert, and we wouldn’t as you to skip it. However, what if you shared it with another person? You’ll only have to take in half the calories!

As you start to go out to restaurants again, you should consider these tips to keep your diet in good shape. This way, you can get back in shape too!
